ASSOCIATION OF ARTS ADMINISTRATION EDUCATORS
CALL FOR DEVELOPER
The Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE) seeks an entry-level web developer for two brochureware sites to be built over summer 2018.
The right person’s skill set includes:
- Full knowledge of WordPress, including template installation, add-on and widget installation, and some customization as needed.
- Knowledge of Adobe suite, particularly basic photo editing.
- Familiarity with PHP, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with remote document sharing (AAAE uses GDrive).
- Remote freelance skills such as self-starting, time and project management, working from a common calendar, and communication primarily via email and text
With oversight and input from the AAAE Executive Director, the Developer will research and propose WordPress template(s), install the template and corresponding add-ons as needed, populate the sites with content (including formatting, linking, and more), and potentially code light customization into the sites. The sites will be built with attention to SEO optimization, core audience conventions, and general web usability standards.
This is a remote opportunity and is location-independent. The Developer will work with no day-to-day oversight and must be an outstanding e-communicator and completely self-starting. The Developer will be asked to track their hours in AAAE’s time tracking software. Target completion date for the sites is negotiable, but ideally will be mid- to late August, 2018. Finished sites and all content therein will be the property of AAAE. The Developer will receive a design credit on a mutually agreed-upon internal page. Fee for each site is commensurate with experience and starts at $950 per site. Interested individuals should send a brief work history and work samples to Katy Coy, AAAE Executive Director: kcoy@artsadministration.org
